Every instruction is quoted as a fee plus disbursements, agreed before attendance. We do not quote by the page.
Survey types
| Condition survey | Hull, machinery, deck equipment and accommodation, with a photographic record and a defect list ranked by urgency. Issued within five working days of attendance. |

| Damage survey | Cause and extent, repair specification suitable for tendering, attendance at the repair yard where instructed, and a final report on completion. |
| Pre-purchase inspection | Inspection afloat or in dock, review of class status, statutory certificates and PSC history, and a written view on what the buyer is taking on. |
| On-hire / off-hire | Condition and bunker survey at delivery or redelivery, including ROB measurement and tank soundings, signed jointly where the parties agree. |
| Draught survey | Initial and final draught readings, density, and a cargo quantity statement. |
| Cargo condition | Hold and hatch cover condition before loading, cargo condition on discharge, and sampling where the instruction requires it. |
What a report contains
A narrative of what was inspected and what was not, with the reason for anything excluded; findings with photographs referenced in the text; and a conclusion that answers the question actually asked in the instruction. Where we could not reach a view, the report says so rather than hedging.
Reports are issued as signed PDFs. We keep the photographic record and field notes for six years, which is what matters if a matter becomes contentious later.
Consultancy
Outside survey work we are instructed on repair specifications, newbuilding and conversion supervision, and second opinions on reports written by others.
Expert work is taken on selectively and only where we attended the vessel or can attend before reporting.
